Miranda Reiter, Ph.D., CFP®, is an assistant professor in the School of Financial
Planning at Texas Tech University, where she has taught classes on diversity,
retirement, and wealth management. She is an award-winning researcher whose work
focuses on diversity, equity, and inclusion in the financial planning profession and the
financial well-being of marginalized groups. Dr. Reiter has published numerous
scholarly articles, and she is the author and narrator of the Audible/The Great Courses
personal finances audiobook, Six Steps to Manage Your Money.
Before joining academia, Dr. Reiter worked as a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNERTM
professional and banker at several Fortune 500 firms, including her own financial
planning practice, She & Money, which focused on women’s financial well-being. Her
financial advice has been quoted in popular media outlets such as the BBC, US News,
and USA Today.
