Craig Lemoine, CFP®, Ph.D. is the Director of the Undergraduate Financial Planning Program at the University of Illinois. Craig is also an Associate Clinical Professor of Financial Planning. Craig’s personal educational mission is to build a world-class financial planning at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, helping students and alumni achieve meaningful outcomes in the financial services community.
Craig earned his Doctorate at Texas Tech University and has been a Certified Financial Planner™ professional for the last twenty years. Craig’s academic passions include studying financial adviser regulatory and ethical frameworks, adviser compensation models, and agency conflicts of interest.
Before joining The University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2017, Craig served as an Associate Professor of Financial Planning at The American College of Financial Services.
At the University of Illinois Craig has developed the Agriculture Focused Financial Planning (AFFP®) designation and several other scalable learning tools. Craig teaches a campus-wide online introduction to personal finance and financial planning course, whose enrollment has ballooned to over 1,500 students annually. Craig has been the Editor of the Journal of Personal Finance since the fall of 2020 and is a member of the FPA and IARFC. Craig currently serves on the Board of Directors for Country Companies.
